Complaint: This company came to my home, and told me that my boiler could possibly cost upward of $1600.00. $100 will be to put piece back on that other company removed and then diagnose the problem. The $75 was just for the service call, which I didn't know about when I called to schedule the service. Was only told about it wben he started quoting what it could possibly cost. Conclusion, chatham comfort contra left my house with $175 without diagnosing the problem. I dismiss him because he told me to buy a $579 part but he wasn't sure if that would solve the problem. Bad company pay for nothing and I want a $100 of my cost returned.

Desired Settlement: $100 of my money returned because he didn't diagnose the problem. I'm out of money and still don't know what need to be fixed.

Business Response: on monday november 23rd we were called out to the home for a no heat call. apon arriving we found the boiler in a position where parts/controls were remonved from the boiler. when we asked the customer what happend. we were told a friend of the plumber had been working on the unit. the customer stated that the calls to the plumbers friend were not being returned. in an effort to help the customer. we reduced our normal price from $231.00 to $100.00 which is itomized on our receipt. this charge was for installing the original control back on to the unit in order to diagnose properly. which we did. we also removed this control and wired in the new control which was provided by the customer from the previous gentleman(which were damaged). the customer asked what was wrong with the boiler. we told the customer we would not know until the boiler was put back into the original condition. we told her the cost of a new control would be $578 which is itomized on our company receipt. the customer called to cancel.  in order to satisfy the customer on november 26th we gave customer a refund for $100.00.
