The company uses a process known as mud jacking, which involves hydraulically lifting a foundation or concrete slab back into place by injecting a high-content limestone and cement-based mixture into the area underneath the slab to fill the void underneath the slab and bring the slab back into position. This mixture is intended to handle a greater load capacity than the actual load it is carrying, thus providing stability and strength.

Complaint: Contract was signed on 9/13/13. A-1 came out to do the job about 5 days later. They were to replace cracks in the foundation around garage area of home. A-1 was working in the back using the hose to mix concrete with a nozzle adjuster on the end. Homeowners were gone when the worker finished his job. Homeowners awoke the next morning to water spewing from the spicket about five feet in the air and flooding around the deck and patio area. A-1 concrete had left about 12:00 noon and had left the water on all of that day as well as overnight causing the water to back up in the hose because nozzle (hose sprayer) was at the other end. The total bill was for 1,000 dollars and I am seeking to pay only 500.00 dollars in order to use the other 500.00 dollars to pay for a plumber and mulch to fix eroded area. I contacted A-1 concrete's manager **** about a week and a half ago and he said that he would rather bring his own plumber and have me pay the full amount. I said that would be fine but have yet to hear from him.
Desired Settlement: 500.00 to have a plumber come and check pipe and spicket on hose, along with extra mulch to compensate for erosion around patio and deck area.
Business Response: Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2013/10/08) */ Contact Name and Title: ***** ****, owner Contact Phone: XXX XXX XXXX Contact Email: *****@a1servicesinc.com Found issues with the customers statement but agreed to hire a plumber to assess the actual damage and resolution. Have called four plumbers in the Oswego / Aurora area and awaiting a specific call date where I can meet w/ plumber and customer at his home to determine cause and resolution. I apologize for the delay and expect a full and satisfactory resolution shortly. Final Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2013/10/09) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I do not want to be held responsible for not paying the bill if this process takes longer than the alloted time to pay the bill. Also I would like to have this handled before the weather gets cold. Final Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2013/10/10) */ It IS most definitely being handled as evidenced by my correspondence / calls to contract with **** Plumbing, (registered / certified plumbing contractor) to call Mr. *****, visit the home, and make specific repairs related to customers verbal statement that we were responsible for affecting a break in the outdoor water spigot. There will be NO further compensation beyond the repair of the spigot. Payment will be expected in full for the $1,000 agreed upon earlier when the plumbing repair is made. Should the customer, Mr. ***** not agree to the offer of plumbing repair there will be no other offer. Customer did sign the agreement to pay the full amount upon completion of project and no negotiation or conditions for compensation were discussed. -------------------------------------------------- 10/23/13 additional info from business: **** Plumbing of Oswego made a service visit at our direction, contacted Mrs ***** and resolved the plumbing issue for $149.50 which I paid gladly. No further response from customer and they will be invoiced again for the full amount of our crack repair service and interest charges. No payment has been attempted to our knowledge by customer.
