Read Complaint Details
Complaint: On 8/8/13 **** the sales rep for Acosta Fence corp came to my house and gave me an estimate for replacing my privacy fence. I told him that I wanted the replacement fence to be exactly the same as the existing fence, Board on Board with the panels nailed between the support posts. I explained that this style was important because the fence is on the my property line. He showed me and circled a picture in their brochure of a fence style Arch Board on Board that looked just like my fence. I signed the contract on 10/30/13 for the new fence that I believed would be just like the fence that was being replaced. I was told that they would install my fence on Saturday 11/16/13, but they never showed and never called. On Monday 11/18/13 they showed up to do the job. I was not home at this time. I returned home in the afternoon and pointed out to the installers that the fence was wrong. The guy said to me that's how they do it. The panels where nailed behind the support posts instead of in between the post. My fence is now partly on my neighbors property. I sent **** an email the next morning, Tuesday 11/19/13, describing the problem with the new fence. Also, included in this email were the details that the support posts were not straight and the installers damaged my chain link gate by forcing it open in the wrong direction. I never got a reply from ****. After no response I called the company and talked to ******* (I believe to be the owner)and explained the problem to him. He told me that the fence will need to be replaced. I agreed that the fence should be replaced." He said "O.K." That's the last I heard from him. I have repeatedly called and talked to the customer service rep and she told me that she has left messages for *******. I have asked to speak to him and he doesn't answer his phone. It has now been almost 10 months since this company installed a fence that is partly on my neighbor's property. I paid $1700.00 for this fence and would like to have it replaced with the fence that I contracted for. If this is not possible, I'd like a refund of my $1700.00
Desired Settlement: I would like the privacy fence to be replaced with the Arch board on board style fence with the panels nailed in between the support posts. I would also like my chain link gate to be repaired. Or I would like a refund of my $1700.00
Business Response: Initial Business Response /* (1000, 10, 2014/08/26) */ IN REGARDS TO THIS COMPLAINT THERE WAS A LITTLE MISUNDERSTANDING, THE FENCE WAS COMPLETED BUT IT WAS NOT THE STYLE THE CUSTOMER THOUGHT SHE WAS GETTING WE HAVE CONTACTED THE CUSTOMER THE OWNER WAS OUT TO HER RESIDENCE TO MAKE SURE WE UNDERSTOOD WHAT STYLE FENCE SHE WANTED. WE HAVE REBUILT A NEW FENCE FOR HER AND SHE IS HAPPY AND 100% SATISFIED.
