On November 3, 2021 I had a contractor from Safeguard Roofing come to my house and assisted me with my insurance claim for my roof. After that interaction I did not hear from anyone from the company Safeguard until May 3 of 2022 via text. The employee was going on vacation and said they would call me back after he returned. On June 1, 2022 I called the office of Safeguard and talk to a lady name *************************** and asked her if she could look up my contract for me. She then stated that she cannot find a contract and that I did not have a contract with Safeguard. I said OK and that I was going to use a different company because it took over six months for someone to contact me and I was going to use a different company to finish my roofing project. On June 27, 2022 I get a letter in the mail with big and embarrassing red letters that say PAST DUE! Saying I owe them 15% of the total job for work they never did. $1947.97. They are trying to tell me that their consultation paperwork is a legal contract when it does not dictate correct verbiage from the state of ******** attorney generals Consumers rights. They also never presented a project price, product selection, or a scope of work for the project. I tried calling the main office, I have left voicemails and I have never heard back from anyone from that office until I got another bill in the mail saying past due again in July 2022. I then reached out via email stating the facts and concerns about their contract and the misinformation and verbiage on their paperwork. As soon as I sent the email I got a notice from a collection agency stating that they sent my bill to collections. I believe this to be unfair and fraudulent behaviors by this company. I would like for Safeguard to drop the collection charge and we both go our separate ways. They did not work on this project and I should not have to pay them. I really could use any help that I can get on this matter and to make sure that this does not happen again.
