I took my vehicle to Meineke for a check engine light. Meineke did a check engine diagnostics and wanted to charge me $800 to repair the *** valve and clean the *** assembly. I told ******* the manager at Meineke that I had just replaced the part with ********* about six months ago and should still be under warranty. Meineke charged me the $200 for the check engine diagnostics check. ********* went ahead and re-changed the brand new *** valve part that was installed a few months ago, cleaned the *** assembly and charged me for the labor only since the part was still under warranty. The check engine light came back on. I took my vehicle again to ********* and the mechanic advised me that *** valve and cleaning was not the issue for the check engine light. The issue for the check engine light to be on is due to the oxygen sensor that he changed for free and did not charge me. I would like for Meineke to refund me the $200.00 they charged me for a false diagnostic test. ******* the manager at Meineke is very rude and argumentative did not want to hear anything I had to say; and told me I would not get my money back. I did advise him I was going to file a complaint against this business for falsely diagnosed my vehicle and wanted to get $800 out of fixing the *** valve and cleaning the *** assembly that had nothing to do with my check engine light and I needed my refund I paid $200.00. If you can please help me with this matter and stop business like this from trying to steal customers money. Date of service at Meineke was on 11/25/2023.
