The Lemon Law applies to motor vehicles which are either purchased or leased and used by persons for their personal or family use. It applies only to vehicles which have been repaired four or more times for the same problem or which have been out-of-service for 30 or more days, and there is a limit for filing which is about 12 months under most warranties, so if a car is older than that, it would not fall under the Illinois Lemon Law.
