Complaint
New furnace and air conditioner was purchased on January 16, 2013 based on a written proposal to process a Nicor rebate following the completed installation. One half of total amount due was paid on this date. ($2,436.50). Installation of new furnace and air conditioner was performed and completed on January 26, 2013. Final payment was made by check #1496 on January 26, 2013. Before leaving, Nicor account information was provided to contractor so as rebate could be processed as outlined in written proposal.

Desired Settlement
Want rebate to be processed with Nicor as promised in contractors proposal or compensation from contractor for amount of rebate ($600)

Business Response
We have just received notification of this case and have contacted Nicor regarding the rebate. Nicor informed us that the rebate amount has not been processed because they were not showing a valid serial number for the furnace. They informed me that a letter was sent to the customer requesting additional information. I am assuming the customer did not receive this notification. I spoke with nicor and they did have the correct serial number however they were showing a different brand name in their system, an error I am assuming happened when it was entered in their system. I have straightened the issue out with Nicor and they informed me that the rebate is now being processed.

I apologize for the delay that this has caused to Mr. ***** receiving his rebate, I informed him that I have contacted nicor regarding the issue and will continue to follow up until his rebate check is received.
