The Bureau suggests that when considering calling an exterminator for pest control problems that you make sure you are dealing with a licensed professional. Structural pest control operators are licensed and regulated by the Department of Agriculture-Office of Pesticide Management. Get bids from several pest control companies. Be sure that you fully understand the nature of pest to be exterminated, the extent of the infestation, and the work necessary to solve the problem. Check to see if the company has liability insurance to cover damages to your house or funishings during treatments. Be sure all guarantees are in writing and states what it covers, how long it lasts, what you must do to keep it in force, and what kind of continuing prevention control is necessary.
