Asheville, NC – The Better Business Bureau serving Western North Carolina, with offices in Asheville, is pleased to announce that Norma Messer has retired after 45 years with BBB. Norma began her career with BBB in 1971 just a few short months after the BBB opened its doors in Asheville for the first time. Norma led the BBB with a constant eye on the consumers of Western North Carolina. She and her staff worked diligently to resolve every customer complaint that came to the attention of the BBB, a task that has always been at the heart of BBB service.

Norma also led the BBB to extraordinary financial growth over the years. Starting with less than 10 companies as Accredited Members in 1971, her efforts successfully attained over 2,000 companies.
The BBB Board expresses their thanks to Norma and wishes her well in her retirement.

Julie Goodwin, a 10 year veteran of BBB Western North Carolina has been named its new Regional Director. Julie is already working closely with the BBB Board and is in the process of introducing herself to BBB Accredited Businesses in the area.
