Since our doors opened in 1984, more than 31,000 families from around the world have called the RMHC of Eastern Wisconsin home. In 2009 alone, we served more than 1,300 families. We are open every day of the year and are nearly always at maximum capacity with our 38 guest rooms filled-often with a wait list of anywhere from five to 20 families each day. We offer parents and children a warm and loving environment that includes nightly home-cooked dinners, a happy playroom, a beautiful backyard garden (complete with playground), art and animal therapy programs, laundry facilities, a computer lab, and comfortable beds in rooms equipped with private baths and hand-made quilts. A pantry of food is stocked daily, and the quiet solitude of our chapel is always available. Importantly, we also offer the camaraderie and community of other families who can relate to the turmoil of having an ill or injured child.
