Programs

Our flagship program, Infinite Boundaries, is a four-day retreat for women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. Designed by breast cancer survivors for breast cancer survivors, each retreat features information and support on issues such as cancer recurrence, depression, and intimacy. Breast cancer survivors sample exercises such as kayaking, hiking, yoga, or ropes course during an Infinite Boundaries retreat. All activities are designed to restore self confidence and provide participants a chance to reconnect with their bodies through journaling. There is healing in nature and retreats are held in beautiful locales throughout the upper Midwest. Infinite Boundaries retreats take place on Madeline Island, on the shores of Lake Superior, Door County or Wisconsin Dells. Women who attend Infinite Boundaries retreats are in all stages of breast cancer. Some are newly diagnosed while others may have been treated for breast cancer years ago. Because women living with breast cancer often face considerable medical expenses, Breast Cancer Recovery places a strong emphasis on ensuring that all women – regardless of financial standing - can experience an Infinite Boundaries retreat. We charge a reduced fee, offer full and partial scholarships for those who wished to attend an Infinite Boundaries retreat. Breast Cancer Recovery also sponsors awareness and educational programs including the annual Sharing the Knowledge conference for survivors, their friends and family, and their healthcare providers. The workshop includes a variety of workshops on topics such as nutrition, exercise, workplace adaptation, legal and financial challenges, and more.
