Programs

              

NCADA has three core programs that serve over 80,000 people annually by comprehensively addressing the problems related to the use and abuse of alcohol and other drugs. The Public Information Program educates the general public by providing access to two libraries containing print, video/DVD, curriculum, and internet resources. Staff and volunteers make presentations to community groups to provide information on the many aspects of this problem. The Assessment and Referral Program helps individuals struggling with addiction and concerned family members receive help. Counselors assess the nature of each individual's problem and then refer him/her to treatment resources that can provide ongoing help. The Prevention Programs target youth and communities with substance abuse and violence prevention curriculum and technical assistance. NCADA staff implements 30+ resiliency skills programs in school-based settings, offers teen leadership programs, and mobilizes, trains, and provide consultation to 33 community coalitions who provide activities and advocate for change in their local communities.
