Programs

Drive the Dream Mobil Vision Clinic – the Clarkson Eyecare Foundation plans to take vision care on the road. The van will be outfitted with two comprehensive exam lanes and an optical dispensary to make it easy for those in need to receive eye care. The traveling clinic will visit areas in need whether due to poverty or natural disaster. Pujols Family Foundation Vision Mission and World Vision – the Clarkson Eyecare Foundation joined forces with the Pujols Family Foundation on a trip to the Dominican Republic in February, to enhance the quality of life by providing vision improvement for orphans and villagers. The trip was extremely successful and the two teams plan to return to continue their efforts either next year or 2010. Adam’s Park Boys & Girls Club Vision Clinic – the grand opening was October 2007, and the club has had a wonderful response with many members signing up for free vision care and glasses made possible by donated time of Clarkson Eyecare doctors and staff. Herbert Hoover Boys & Girls Club Vision Clinic – in its sixth year, the clinic provides free vision care and glasses through the donated time of Clarkson Eyecare doctors and staff. Community Outreach – helps uninsured, low-income people and their families who have no other means of obtaining vision care. The program is also in place to provide exams and glasses to those devastated by natural disasters. LASIK for Physically Challenged – enables people with severe disabilities to live fuller, richer lives by eliminating the use for glasses or contact lenses. EyeGeneration – a Clarkson Eyecare representative teaches students at local schools the importance of eye safety, yearly exams, and a positive attitude to healthy living. Through EyeGeneration, and the help of school nurses and social workers, we identify and provide free vision care and glasses to the underprivileged. InfantSee – provides free exams to infants between six and twelve months of age for early detection and treatment of eye disease and vision problems. Season for Sight – Clarkson Eyecare’s annual appeal for used glasses. They are then distributed by the Lion’s Club to be used for people in the U.S and abroad who are in need.
