Programs

Forest ReLeaf accomplishes its mission through a variety of tree-planting and education programs. Through Project CommuniTree, the region’s only volunteer-staffed tree nursery, it encourages reforestation efforts by growing and distributing an average of 5,000 free trees annually for planting by community groups. It provides parks and municipalities low-cost access to larger trees through Project ReLeaf, and addresses high-need planting projects in financially-underserved communities through Priority ReLeaf. It also teaches community volunteers tree identification, care and maintenance through its TreeKeepers program, and helps citizens to monitor the health of Missouri’s forests through the statewide Forestkeepers network. Since 1993, Forest ReLeaf has distributed over 100,000 trees for planting throughout the region.
