Programs

St. Louis Internship Program (SLIP) has achieved an over 98% high school graduation rate through an effective year-round program design: eight-week summer job internships in professional settings preceded by a guided application process and intensive training and followed by year-round career and college planning activities. SLIP opens new worlds of opportunity for students who may see only very limited options for their futures. SLIP works to provide this hope and opportunity by building partnerships with underserved youth and businesses, resulting in stronger communities Through SLIP internships, students learn the skills and develop the confidence they need to pursue their dreams. By providing opportunities in professional settings, SLIP effectively helps these at-risk students envision a future, complete high school, and prepare for post-secondary education, by providing immediate and ongoing support and demonstrating long-term possibilities.

For the fiscal year ended August 31, 2009, SLIP's program expenses were:

Internship Program 448,232
