Lemay Child and Family Center supports low-income families by providing affordable childcare services while parents work or go to school. Founded as a preschool, it believes that all children- regardless of financial status or ability- should have access to high-quality early childhood education services. Over the years, it has added programs for infants and toddlers, older children and parents, in order to help strengthen families and meet a broader spectrum of their needs. Core programs include infant toddler care for children ages 6 weeks to 2 years; preschool education for children ages 3 through pre-kindergarten (age 5 or 6); before and after-school programs for children through the age of 12; full day programs for school-age children during school holidays and in the summer; and support services for families. These services include on-site Parents as Teachers, a family resource library, parenting classes, GED tutoring, and social service support.
