Programs

              

The main services provided to children and families from Missouri and Illinois are: Residential treatment, day treatment, special education, crisis stabilization services for children and families, speech, music and art therapy, therapeutic foster care, facility-based respite care, in-home respite care, and diagnostic services. Over 300 children everyday receive services from Edgewood. The primary objectives at Edgewood are to move children to a less restrictive home and/or educational setting, stabilize families at risk for abuse, and place children in a safe, happy, healthy home environment.

NOTES

              

On August 27, 2009, the independent boards of directors of Boys & Girls Town of Missouri and Edgewood Children’s Center voted to approve the merger of the two children and family services agencies.  The merger forms a new parent organization that can include a family of agencies, beginning with Boys & Girls Town and Edgewood.  The name of the new parent organization has yet to be determined. St. Louis will serve as the headquarters of the new parent agency.
