Programs

              

Chapter programs touched the community over 400,000 times to meet human health and welfare needs. In meeting these needs and fulfilling its mission, the Chapter provides Emergency Services, International Services, and Health and Safety. Emergency Services: The Chapter responded to 969 local disasters, mostly home fires, and provided assistance to 3,110 local disaster victims. We also disbursed over $275,000 in emergency financial assistance to over 2,300 local disaster victims. We provided beverages, food, and other support to 15,035 local emergency response personnel. The Chapter serviced 1606 military cases affecting 4818 people and helped 81 military financial cases with a total of $124,743.01 in assistance. The Chapter also taught 104,524 people about disaster preparedness. To help the community be better prepared before crises occur, the Chapter taught 104,524 people about disaster preparedness. International Services: International Services provides tracing and messaging, education, and help with international relief efforts. Health and Safety: The Chapter has been providing Health and Safety instruction for over 90 years to help community members prevent and respond appropriately to health emergencies. 20,000 individuals participated in Learn-to-Swim, lifeguarding, or water safety programs, and about 70,000 certifications were issued in First Aid/CPR/AED programs. HIV/AIDS prevention programs reached 33,891 people with prevention education. Youth: The Chapter reaches children with Red Cross education and teens with leadership and community service programs.
