Programs

              

Line of Duty Death Fund: A Helping Hand Within 24 Hours VPSF provides grant assistance to the families of public safety officers killed in the line of duty, with the goal of delivering this assistance within 24 hours of the officer’s death. VPSF Education Scholarship Fund: Opening Doors to New Opportunity VPSF provides educational scholarship opportunities for the dependents of public safety officers killed in the line of duty. VPSF Injured Officer Fund: Support When It’s Needed Most VPSF provides grants to officers who suffer a severe injury in the line of duty that prevents them from returning to work. Healthy Heroes: Preventing Line of Duty Deaths In an effort to address line of duty deaths in Virginia from a proactive stance, VPSF launched in 2010 the Healthy Heroes program, which supports various heart health initiatives in the public safety community. Medal of Valor: Honoring Virginia’s Finest Public Servants VPSF serves, on behalf of the Commonwealth of Virginia, as official administrator for the Commonwealth Public Safety Medal of Valor, an honor presented annually to public safety officers who have displayed extreme courage in the line of duty. Commonwealth Public Safety Memorial: Remembering Heroes VPSF is the non-profit fundraiser and administrator, on behalf of the Commonwealth of Virginia, for the campaign to build a monument to public safety officers killed in the line of duty.
