Programs

              

Hanover Arc serves 165 individuals with or at risk of intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families, through a variety of services and supports so that they may live “A Life Like Yours”. When a child is born or diagnosed with a disability, parents need continuing assistance to determine the best options for their child. Resource navigation gives individuals and their families the tools to to find and access services and supports. Hanover Arc assists families in finding resources, navigating the system and provides emergency assistance for hardship situations throughout the lifespan. The Adaptive Equipment Lending Library provides children and adults with items that enhance their ability to be more independent. Items are purchased and loaned as needed. Recreation and Respite Care provides funding so that individuals and families can obtain the recreation or respite care activity which specifically meets their needs. Saturday Sitters is a unique recreation and respite care program for children birth-5 years with developmental delays and their families. Families bring their children to a recreation center from 4-7PM on Saturdays where qualified staff provide a structured recreational activity time and parents have a break from child caring. Summer Educational Scholarships provide families with the funds they need to send their child with a disability to a summer educational program. This allows the child to maintain skills and acquire new skills over the summer. Adults participate in a variety of social, recreational and educational activities sponsored by Hanover Arc and/or in partnership with other organizations. Adult Recreation provides a comprehensive service of transportation, outreach, supervision and financial aid. Hanover Arc educates elected officials and represents the needs of individuals with disabilities on a variety of county committees.
