Programs

              

As a well established community service agency since 1984, Commonwealth Parenting provides parent education and support to Richmond area families with a high risk of negative outcomes due to destructive parenting practices, insufficient knowledge of alternative approaches or limited resources. We provide interactive classes, facilitate individual goal-setting sessions, promote targeted intervention strategies and host a free telephone support line. Attendance at our classes and community workshops grew to more than 5,000 participants in 2008, a considerable increase over an average 2,400 participants since the year 2000. All of our services are offered on a sliding scale fee basis, and scholarships are provided through various community grants, private donations, and fundraising proceeds.
