Programs

The charity holds a “Pediatric Feeding Disturbances Conference,” which has feeding experts present to medical professionals and parents. The “Infant and Child Feeding Questionnaire” is an online screening tool that enables medical professionals to partner with parents to identify pediatric feeding issues earlier, providing an opportunity for further assessment and more effective treatment. P.O.P.S.I.C.L.E.’s “Educational Webinar” is an accredited online course for medical professionals on feeding disturbances. The webinar also serves as a resource for parents. The “Community Outreach Program” attempts to raise awareness of pediatric feeding disturbances through: educational workshops for medical professionals and parents, exhibitor booths at conferences and community events, a new, enhanced website with resources and educational information, an online forum for medical professionals and parents, distribution of informational materials, and connecting with the community through social media. The “Power of Two Program” is for parents of children with feeding difficulties who may feel isolated and overwhelmed with the medical, emotional, financial, educational, and social issues they face as they raise their child. This program matches parents who are dealing with their child’s feeding disturbance with volunteer mentors. “Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Outreach Program” in partnership with Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs), provides information to the families of infants leaving the NICU with a feeding tube or at risk for feeding disturbances. Finally, the “Medical Professional Outreach Program” offers educational sessions at physician practices and NICUs.
