Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) does not meet the following Standard for Charity Accountability.

Standard 3: Frequency and Attendance of Board Meetings - An organization shall have a minimum of three evenly spaced meetings per year of the full governing body with a majority in attendance, with face-to-face participation. A conference call of the full board can substitute for one of the three meetings of the governing body. For all meetings, alternative modes of participation are acceptable for those with physical disabilities.

MAF does not meet this Standard because:

  • The board of directors held two meetings in the past fiscal year.

Programs

              

MAF deploys aviation, communications, and learning technologies to support and advance the Gospel and ministry efforts throughout Africa, Asia, Eurasia, and Latin America. MAF services aim to enable and maximize evangelism and church nurture, medical assistance, disaster response, and community development. MAF also conducts national training and capacity building through discipleship, skills training, and leadership development. In 2009, MAF reports that its fleet of 55 aircraft executed 34,436 flights, logged 2.59 million miles, transported 104,787 passengers, and delivered 9.4 million pounds of cargo—all on 1,700 unimproved dirt and grass airstrips or waterways.
