PCI is a non-profit health and humanitarian aid organization dedicated to preventing disease, improving community health, and promoting sustainable development through four main areas of development work: healthcare and disease prevention, water and sanitation along with food and nutrition security, economic empowerment, and humanitarian assistance. PCI reports that it reached more than 5.5 million people in 2009 through programs in Asia, Africa, and the Americas.
