Programs

              

Together with individuals and local groups in more than 90 countries in Africa, Asia, South, Central, and North America, Oxfam aims to save lives, help people overcome poverty, and fight for social justice. Oxfam collaborates with local partner organizations to support activities including small business development, natural resource management, and promoting the rights of women and indigenous people. Oxfam produces research reports and educational materials on issues relating to poverty and international development—some of which are used to raise public awareness and to influence the U.S. Congress and other government entities to support development efforts. Oxfam offers leadership training to U.S. college students through its CHANGE Initiative program and does grassroots outreach through its annual Fast for a World Harvest. Oxfam publishes its magazine, “OXFAMExchange,” three times a year.
