Programs

              

OI's community development initiatives include helping children thrive, building community, empowering families, and nurturing the environment. These initiatives address the issues of child survival, literacy, basic education, sanitation, micro-enterprise, housing, community governance, nutrition, sustainable agriculture and environmental concerns. OI's training and technical support to other NGOs and to municipal governments aims to help build their effectiveness in fulfilling their missions and improve the outcomes of their work in poor communities. OI's advocacy and development education program works to engage the public in issues of poverty awareness, eradication, and understanding the inter-relatedness of the global community. Some ($184,017 or 7%) of OI's program activities are carried out in conjunction with fund raising appeals.
