Programs

              

IMC's services include primary and secondary health care training, emergency medicine, nutrition, reproductive health, maternal and child health, access to safe and clean water, mental health, health education, and livelihoods. According to IMC, its programs reached some 12 million people in 28 countries and regions in 2009, including: Afghanistan, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Chechnya, Darfur, Dagestan, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Gaza, Haiti, Indonesia, Ingushetia, Iraq, Jordan, Kenya, Lebanon, Liberia, Pakistan, Somalia, South Sudan, St. Lucia, Syria, Uganda, the United States, Yemen and Zimbabwe.

Haiti Earthquake Relief Activities

              

IMC is working with the hospital administration to ensure the delivery of surgical, medical and emergency obstetric care, as well as trauma and wound care. The organization is currently operating 13 teams working in 15 sites in areas around Port au Prince, including 3 coastal sites serviced by boat. IMC is training and education existing health care workers in Haiti to enable self-reliance. IMC is also focusing on integrating psychosocial activities and mental health care into a primary care system by training existing Haitian health professionals.
