Africare assists families, communities and nations in Africa in four principal areas which include health and HIV/AIDS, food security and agriculture, water and sanitation, and emergency and humanitarian assistance. In addition, Africare provides programs in women's empowerment, environmental management, literacy and vocational training, microenterprise development, and civil-society development and governance.
