Programs

ActionAid works with local partners to fight poverty and injustice. The organization’s partners range from small community support groups to national alliances and international networks seeking universal education, trade justice, and action against HIV/AIDS. Through its work with these national and international campaign networks, ActionAid strives to highlight the issues that affect poor people and to influence the way governments and international institutions think. ActionAid has six strategic priorities: the right to food; the right to education; women’s rights; the right to human security in conflict and emergencies; the right to life and dignity in the face of HIV and AIDS; and the right to just and democratic governance. ActionAid programs support farmer’s cooperatives in Africa, land reform and biofuel advocacy in Latin America, disaster emergency relief in Asia, campaigns against human trafficking, and other activities.
