Programs

Bread advocates policies through churches, campuses, and other organizations. It mobilizes its members in support of policies that address the root cause of hunger through letter writing campaigns and emails to Congress. Bread’s members also meet with Congressional representatives with the aim of influencing decision makers to end hunger in the U.S and abroad. Annually, the organization invites churches and groups across the country to take up an “offering of letters” to Congress on issues important to hungry people. Bread’s newsletters are published eight times a year and cover issues and legislation that affect hungry and poor people. Some ($857,369, or 17%) of Bread's programs are conducted in conjunction with fund raising appeals.
