Programs

USCRI works through its field offices and a network of community-based partner agencies to resettle refugees and help immigrants in the U.S. access basic housing and orientation services, as well as targeted programs on food and nutrition, financial literacy, citizenship and disabilities. USCRI reports that approximately 5,000 to 10,000 refugees are resettled each year through its network. USCRI also provides services to unaccompanied minors through its National Center for Refugee and Immigrant Children, which advocates for and matches up unaccompanied immigrant and refugee children with pro bono legal and social services in the U.S. USCRI's policy and research program focuses on refugee protection overseas and promotes the International Campaign to End Refugee Warehousing (the practice of confining refugees to camps, settlements, or otherwise depriving them of basic rights to earn a livelihood or freedom of movement). As part of its policy and research work, USCRI also publishes online the annual “World Refugee Survey” in collaboration with over 30 research contributors in refugee-hosting countries.
