Programs

              

CTF extends grants to scientists just starting out in their careers for studies into the causes of and treatments for neurofibromatosis types 1 and 2, schwannomatosis and related disorders (referred to from this point on as "NF"). CTF also sponsors an annual meeting that features presentations by investigators in the field and experts in related disciplines. Its Clinical and NF Mutation Databases serve as central repositories for information about NF and are accessible by Internet to scientists and clinicians. For kids with NF, CTF hosts a summer camp where they are able to develop friendships and have an outlet for discussing questions and collective concerns. Support groups and other programs are coordinated by CTF chapters and affiliates. In addition to its newsletters, CTF also produces several guides and brochures for patients and their familes on NF topics.
