Programs

              

The Association provides information, education, and support through its toll-free, 24/7 Helpline, online community, publications on Alzhiemer’s related topics and through other programs. The organization also funds studies in biology of disease related molecules; associated mechanisms; genetics; therapeutic interventions and prevention; diagnosis, assessment, and monitoring; and care and support in home and long-term residential settings. Furthermore, through its Campaign for Quality Residential Care, the Association offers classroom and web-based training for supervisors, group leaders, nurses, and other staff at assisted living facilities and nursing homes in areas such as pain reduction and food and fluid management. The Association's Safe Return service registers persons with dementia into its network so that, in the event they should wander away from normal surroundings, reuniting the lost individual with their care givers will be easier. Some ($7,164,000, or 34%) of the Association's public education and awareness efforts are carried out in conjunction with fund raising efforts.
