Programs

              

WMR collects recycled medical and dental equipment, medical supplies, laboratory instruments, and medicines and distributes them to developing nations around the world. Sponsoring organizations or medical missionaries may apply for assistance. The organization's affordable prescription program provides prescription medicines to low-income people ages 18 and older. The program is for people who do not have prescription insurance and do not qualify for government assistance programs. WMR's medical supply service program provides various medical supplies for local non-profit agencies that offer these items to their clients, including dressings, kerlix bandages, ostomy supplies, liquid nutrition, first aid kits, medicines, and other related items. The organization also provides basic home health care supplies to people of all ages. Through the Durable medical equipment program, low-income clients can obtain canes, walkers, hospital beds, over-the-bed tables, commodes, tub benches, and similar items. The organization reports that clients need a doctor’s prescription or a social service agency referral to receive medical equipment. WMR provides metropolitan area clinics with medical supplies and equipment through the local shipping program. The program also provides hygiene kits, blankets, and other items to Detroit area homeless shelters.
