Programs

              

Water.org provides technical and financial support for implementing water supply and sanitation projects in developing countries while raising awareness of the drinking water and sanitation crisis in developing countries. The organization supports projects in South Asia, Africa and Latin America. Through its Partner Development program, Water.org provides a support and oversight structure to identify and evaluate partner organizations in developing countries that implement sustainable water supply and sanitation projects. Grant community recipients must agree to contribute in-kind labor to construct the water system, so that the community then has the first-hand knowledge required to maintain the system over the long term. The WaterCredit Initiativeā„¢, launched in 2005, aims to catalyzes micro-lending to poor communities and individuals to construct water systems and sanitation facilities. Water.org raises awareness of the water supply crisis through presentations, media briefings, and its website.
