Programs

              

Vasculitis Foundation works to raise awareness and understanding of vasculitis in the medical community and general public. Vasculitis Foundation provides support to patients, families and medical professionals through its website, bimonthly newsletter, chapters/support groups, symposia and information packets. Vasculitis Foundation’s medical consultants aid in diagnosing and treating vasculitis, as well as performing research. They consult with other physicians treating patients and speak at international medical conferences, chapter meetings and symposiums. The organization collaborates with patients, physicians and researchers around the world to ensure that every patient receives treatment and care. Vasculitis Foundation members also advocate for increased awareness and government research funding by participating in Congressional briefings and rare disease coalitions. The research program was established in 2001 and the charity reports that, to date, it has funded over $800,000 in research. The program provides funding to determine the cause(s) of vasculitis, develop better treatments for patients and to discover a cure for the disease.
