Evaluation Conclusions

              

Physicians for Social Responsibility (PSR) does not meet the following Standard for Charity Accountability.

Standard 3: Frequency and Attendance of Board Meetings - An organization shall have a minimum of three evenly spaced meetings per year of the full governing body with a majority in attendance, with face-to-face participation. A conference call of the full board can substitute for one of the three meetings of the governing body. For all meetings, alternative modes of participation are acceptable for those with physical disabilities.

PSR does not meet this Standard because:

  • The board of directors held two meeting during the past year.

Programs

              

PSR educates the public on the potentially irreversible health effects of global environmental pollution, including threats posed by toxic exposures, drinking water quality, air quality, and global climate change. PSR mobilizes physicians and other health care providers to educate their patients, peers, and decision makers about the need for national, state, and local policies that protect public health. Some ($122,770 or 5%) of PSR's program services are carried out in conjunction with fund raising appeals.
