Programs

NPF serves people with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis, and reports assisting approximately 1.5 million people annually through educational programs and services. NPF is also a patient advocacy organization and charitable funder of psoriatic disease research worldwide. The organization is embarking on a five-year strategic plan that focuses on finding a cure by increasing the amount and quality of psoriasis research; changing conditions and policies in the public and private sectors that impede its mission; and educating patients and health care providers to best manage psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis and improve overall health. NPF has a network of 55,000 advocates working nationwide to raise awareness about psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis and find a cure for this disease. The organization is also working with health care insurers, government and individuals to end harmful health insurance policies and procedures, which delay patients' access to relief from the painful symptoms of psoriatic disease. NPF focuses on funding four research pathways: immunology, genetics, skin and joint biology, and associated health outcomes.

For the fiscal year ended June 30, 2009, NPF's program expenses were:

Public education 1,652,438
Research 706,159
Advocacy and government relations 654,788
