Programs

NPF is a national organization with a grassroots network of Centers of Excellence, chapters and support groups in the United States, Canada and internationally. The core of NPF’s efforts is the NPF Center of Excellence network, comprised of 43 medical centers around the globe that deliver care to more than 50,000 Parkinson’s patients. According to NPF, the organization’s programs reach more than one million people a year through 39 chapters with 25,000 members, more than 900 support groups and its online resource center, www.parkinson.org. Through this network, NPF creates a community of health care professionals dedicated to improving clinical care in Parkinson’s disease. In each of NPF’s research, education and outreach programs, the organization is dedicated to promoting the belief that the best care is a comprehensive approach that addresses the whole person and the full range of symptoms of the disease. NPF’s national professional training initiative, Allied Team Training for Parkinson (ATTP), prepares current and future health care professionals to deliver integrated, specialized care in a team setting to individuals with Parkinson’s disease and their families. NPF reports training over 1,200 health professionals across the country. Some ($212,972 or 3%) of NPF's program activities are carried out in conjunction with fund raising appeals.
