Programs

              

MHA's "Campaign for America's Mental Health" works nationally and locally to raise awareness that mental illnesses are common, real and treatable. The organization works on advocacy issues to ensure people with mental illnesses are not discriminated against, have effective and evidence-based treatment methods, and have access to insurance and housing without discrimination. MHA's "Dialogue for Recovery" is a program aimed at enhancing communication between doctors and patients about treatment goals, medication side effects and other quality of life issues affecting the recovery of individuals diagnosed with serious mental illness. The organization's "Live Your Life Well" campaign is a program consisting of 10 steps to maintain health with an emphasis on mental health. Each year, MHA holds an annual conference with approximately 350 participants.
