Programs

MSFC focuses on creating physicians who are educated and willing to provide the full range of reproductive health services, including abortion, to their patients. The organization achieves its objectives through its Student Organizing Program which supports change in medical schools, and the Reproductive Health Externship Program which provides funded opportunities for direct training to medical students. MSFC's Student Organizing Program is based on traditional community organizing strategies. Three full-time staff members and 18 regionally-based medical student volunteers provide direct support, mentoring, and technical assistance to medical students at 139 medical schools in the United States, Canada, and five other countries. A range of programs give MSFC's local group leaders opportunities to develop skills that aim to enhance the effectiveness of their local group, design and implement strategies for improving their school's reproductive health curriculum.

For the year ended December 31, 2009, MSC's program expenses were:

Student organizing 683,490
