Global AIDS Alliance (GAA) does not meet the following Standard for Charity Accountability.

Standard 7: Board Approval of Written Report on Effectiveness - Submit to the organization's governing body, for its approval, a written report that outlines the results of the aforementioned performance and effectiveness assessment and recommendations for future actions.

GAA does not meet this Standard because:

  • It did not produce a written report outlining the results of its most recent effectiveness assessment.

Programs

              

GAA seeks to mobilize a comprehensive response to global HIV/AIDS and address the epidemic’s fundamental links to social justice issues such as poverty and gender inequity. Specifically, GAA works to ensure universal access to HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment, and care by 2010; advance children’s well-being, with a focus on prevention and treatment of pediatric HIV/AIDS, care and support for orphans and vulnerable children, and universal basic education; accelerate women’s equality, with a focus on integrating sexual and reproductive health and HIV services and preventing violence against women and girls; and secure increased financial resources and ensure they are utilized to maximize on-the-ground results. GAA combines media outreach and public education with targeted coalition-building and grassroots mobilization in order to raise awareness and inspire activism in support of advocacy to advance these policy goals.
