Programs

              

FF reports that, when left untreated, obstetric fistula leaves women physically incontinent and often social outcasts in their communities. Surgery can repair the injury and leave 90% of women able to return to their communities and return to being productive members of their community. FF’s largest grantee is the Hamlin Fistula Hospitals in Ethiopia, which is the largest fistula treatment facility in the world. FF also supports the Panzi Hospital in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and hospitals in Afghanistan, Angola, Cameroon, Kenya, Liberia, Senegal, Somaliland and Tanzania. FF funds programs that have a financial need and can demonstrate that the funds will be used responsibly and in a timely manner; have accurate financial statements; provide detailed grant applications; and produce reasonable and timely reporting which enables the organization to meet its fiduciary duties.
