CHADD reports that it provides education, advocacy, and support services to about 200 communities in order to improve the lives of people affected by AD/HD. CHADD publishes printed materials to keep members and professionals current on research advances, medications and treatments affecting individuals with AD/HD. These materials include Attention! magazine, the CHADD Information and Resource Guide to AD/HD, a free electronically mailed current events newsletter, and other publications of specific interest to educators, professionals and parents. CHADD also operates a national AD/HD Education Initiative, called "ASK: AD/HD. Science. Knowledge," a multi-year campaign designed to educate policymakers, the media, and the American public about the science behind AD/HD while simultaneously dispelling the myths about AD/HD. Furthermore, CHADD engages in outreach programs, monthly meetings on topics pertinent to AD/HD, support groups, and network opportunities. CHADD also hosts an annual conference aimed at helping patients, teachers, and families manage the impact of the disorder over a lifespan.
