Programs

              

BSF's principal program activities are family support, outreach, and education; physician awareness and education; a medical databank and biorepository, and the facilitation of advances in science and medicine through a research grant program. BSF awards grants for studies of natural history, biochemical basis, gene production function, and treatment of Barth Syndrome. At medical and scientific conferences, BSF sponsors informational booths to increase awareness of Barth Syndrome. In addition to publishing newsletters, BSF also operates a list-serv that lets families who have a child with Barth Syndrome reach out to others able to relate to their situations.
