Programs

              

ASH provides education to the public on the danger of smoking and secondhand smoke. It also aims to create awareness about the rights and legal protections of nonsmokers through the media, newsletters, and direct mail. ASH is also involved in fighting against the problems that smoking creates. It represents the nonsmoking community in courts, legislative bodies, and before regulatory agencies. The organization reports that its legal actions helped prompt the FDA to crack down on the imports of e-cigarettes and that it helped several jurisdictions to ban cigarette use in areas where smoking is prohibited. It also reports that through its programs, major entities like PayPal and Amazon stopped facilitating the sales of e-cigarettes.
