Programs

              

WRI sponsors research, reports, seminars and similar activities related to world environment and resource studies. The organization categorizes its work around four key programmatic areas: climate protection, governance, markets and enterprise, and people and ecosystems. The people and ecosystems program aims to reverse degradation of ecosystems and assure its capacity to provide humans with needed goods and services. Through its governance work, the organization seeks to empower people and support institutions to foster environmentally sound and socially equitable decision-making. Climate protection efforts aim to protect the global climate system from further harm due to emissions of greenhouse gases and help humanity and the natural world adapt to climate change. Its markets and enterprise program attempts to expand economic opportunity and protect the environment through markets and enterprise.
