Programs

              

JGI works to create healthy ecosystems, promote sustainable livelihoods and nurture new generations of committed, active citizens around the world. In Tanzania, the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Republic of Congo, Uganda, Guinea and Sierra Leone, JGI’s Africa Programs team work to conserve chimpanzees through research, public education and awareness, and community-based landscape-scale conservation planning. By engaging local communities, JGI builds success and sustainability for conservation objectives and increases the livelihood opportunities available to local rural communities. Roots & Shoots is a program for youths to educate and inspire one another as they build a better future. JGI’s interactive Roots & Shoots website provides global networking opportunities. Some ($272,980 or 3%) of JGI's program services are conducted in conjunction with its fund raising appeals.
