Programs

              

Earthworks collaborates with communities and grassroots groups to reform government policies, improve corporate practices and influence investment decisions. The organization exposes the health, environmental, economic and social impacts of irresponsible digging and drilling through work informed by science. The Mining Program focuses on legislative and regulatory strategies, campaigns to protect specific places from mining impacts and market strategies and efforts to involve consumers and retailers in placing pressure on mining companies to improve their practices. The Mining Program works both nationally and internationally and includes the No Dirty Gold Campaign. The Energy Program includes the Oil and Gas Accountability Project as well as the No Dirty Energy campaign which work to change federal, state and local government policy and support communities impacted by existing and proposed energy extraction. The Energy Program focuses on oil and natural gas development, coal mining, tar sands extraction, and uranium mining.
