Programs

              

MADRE, an international women’s human rights organization, works to advance social, environmental and economic justice. MADRE works to transform conditions by applying its human rights expertise and movement-building capacities to meet women’s needs and develop long-term solutions to the crises they face. MADRE works in three over-arching program areas: peace building; women’s health/combating violence against women; and economic and environmental justice. Work in each of these areas is informed by four key strategies: movement-building for social change, meeting immediate needs, advocating for human rights and educating the public.
